Use cellophane wrapping to make your gift extra special
If you’re giving anyone flowers in the coming weeks, whether it’s for a birthday or perhaps even just to say thank you, you’ll want to make sure they look extra special. Presentation is everything when it comes to gifts, because if they don’t look right it might appear that you don’t particularly care about the recipient’s feelings.
Therefore, use cellophane wrapping to give the blooms a little extra style and elegance. That way, the special someone will know how much they mean to you. It’s the little touches that make great presents really stand out.

Making tissue paper flowers
To make full tissue paper flowers you need at least 10 layers of tissue paper – although 20 layers makes a much fuller flower.
Start by cutting circles out of tissue paper. These circles are the different layers of the flower, so for 20 layers, cut 20 circles. You can use one colour or alternate the colours to make different flower effects. Vary the sizes of your circles slightly, so some are 5-10mm larger or smaller than each other.
Once you’ve cut your circles, cut patterns into the edges of the circles that replicate petal patterns. Then lay the circles on top of each other, making sure the centres of each circle line up.
Place a green pipe cleaner into the centre of the pile and carefully push it through the layers to create a hole in the layers. Push the pipe cleaner through until only 5mm remains at the top.
Cover the 5mm of pipe cleaner with green plasticine to secure it in place as the centre of the flower. Then push the tissue paper layers up around the plasticine as petals.
Use green electrical tape to secure the bottom of the tissue paper layers and your flower is complete.

Taking an early pregnancy test
If you have been trying to conceive and begin to experience pregnancy symptoms, you will more than likely want to take an early pregnancy test to confirm whether you are indeed expecting a baby.
There are two types of test available – blood and urine. You can take a urine test at home, but only a doctor can perform a blood test for pregnancy.
Early pregnancy tests differ from ordinary urine tests in that they are more sensitive and can detect lower levels of hCG or human Chorionic Gonadotropin. You can even use these tests up to around six days before your period is due.
